Selection essentials

Protection across every working hour.

Engine oil must manage soot, heat, deposits and wear without falling outside the engine maker’s viscosity and performance requirements.

Share engine details
01 / Fleet

Commercial vehicles

Heavy-duty diesel engine oils selected for vehicle make, engine type and service duty.

02 / Stationary

Generators

Lubricants for standby and prime-power engines with the required performance specification.

03 / Viscosity

15W-40 & more

Multi-grade viscosity options where specified, along with other mineral or synthetic categories.

04 / Performance

API service levels

Match the required engine oil performance level instead of choosing on viscosity alone.

Fast selection path

Start with the engine, then the oil.

Viscosity is only one part of the requirement. The engine model and performance level keep the enquiry relevant.

  1. 1

    Identify the engine

Share vehicle, generator or equipment make, model and year.

  2. 2

    Find the specification

Note viscosity, API level, OEM approval or manual reference.

  3. 3

    Describe the service

Include duty cycle, running hours, load and service interval.

  4. 4

    Group the demand

State fleet size, pack preference and monthly requirement.

Common enquiry language

What an engine-oil reference contains.

A complete request includes viscosity and performance specification. Always follow the engine maker’s recommendation for the exact model.

Guide only
Confirm OEM requirement
15W-40Viscosity grade

A widely requested heavy-duty multigrade, but not suitable for every engine.

API categoryPerformance level

CH-4 and other service categories describe performance, not viscosity.

OEM approvalMaker requirement

Some engines call for a manufacturer-specific approval or service standard.

Mineral / syntheticBase-oil category

Select according to engine design, service requirement and approved interval.

Fleet support

Turn separate oil requests into one clear plan.

Group engines by their approved oil requirement instead of assuming one grade fits the entire fleet.

01 / Group

Fleet mapping

List engine models against viscosity and performance level to identify common requirements.

02 / Pack

Volume planning

Share oil-change volume, vehicle count and top-up use to estimate the quote quantity.

03 / Record

Service reference

Keep the approved product and interval recorded for more consistent repeat enquiries.

Quote engine oil

Tell us the engine and service grade.

We’ll confirm availability and quote against your pack or fleet quantity.

Engine oil FAQs

Before ordering for a fleet or generator.

Two oils with the same viscosity can carry different performance levels and approvals.

Is every 15W-40 engine oil the same?

No. 15W-40 identifies viscosity behaviour, while API categories, OEM approvals and product formulation describe performance. Match the complete requirement.

Can a newer API category replace an older one?

Sometimes later categories are backward compatible, but this should not be assumed for every engine or emissions system. Confirm the engine maker’s approved service category.

Can mineral and synthetic engine oils be mixed?

Avoid routine mixing unless compatibility and the resulting performance are confirmed. For a planned product change, follow the engine and lubricant supplier guidance.

Can the same oil be used for trucks and generators?

Only when both engines specify the same viscosity, performance level and approvals. Compare each engine manual rather than grouping them by fuel type alone.
